Oh what a month December turned out to be! With the end of the year activities at work combined with family flying in for the holidays, and my sister staying with me, there turned out to be a lot less time to read than I anticipated. Silly me for thinking I’d have more quiet time this month 😅 Now that everyone is on their way home, I’m back alone at my place and although I still feel slightly frazzled, I can also tell that my mind is calming down some. With that, I managed to read 17 books in December.
⁍ Good Talk: A Memoir in Conversations (read my review)
⁍ (eARC) Under the Cottonwood Tree (read my review)
⁍ (eARC) The Curious Heart of Ailsa Rae (read my review)
⁍ (Blog Tour) The Devil’s Apprentice (read my review)
⁍ Darkdawn (RTC)
⁍ All I Want for Christmas Is You (RTC)
⁍ Sadie (read my review)
⁍ The Bone Houses (read my review)
⁍ The Queen of Nothing (read my review)
⁍ The Snowman (read my review)
⁍ The Wicked King (read my review)
⁍ (eARC) Bury the Lede (read my review)
⁍ (eARC) Human (read my review)
⁍ Descendant of the Crane (RTC)
⁍ The Sleeper and the Spindle (RTC)
⁍ Trophy Life (read my review)
⁍ Cold Feet at Christmas (read my review)
Based on my ratings, it seems that the majority of what I read in December was pretty good. The majority were 4-star reads but I did have a lot of 3-star reads too. I actually don’t think I really have a ‘favorite’ read but if I had to pick I’d say they’re actually 4-star reads: The Bone Houses and Sadie.
I read a few more eARCs in December and I’m happy I managed to do that, although I didn’t read enough to clear myself to the 100% mark on NetGalley. That’s still a goal for me in 2020 and I’m hoping that I’ll be able to achieve it this time since I failed so miserably in 2019 😅I’m also happy with the reviews I managed to write in December! Out of my 17 reads, only four weren’t reviewed (or are still being written) and considering how lazy I’ve been feeling the last few months, I’m pretty chuffed with that. YAY!
2019 has come and gone and I thought I’d have time to figure out my goals for 2020 towards the end of December, but it was so hectic that I haven’t had the time to properly sit down and think about it. I’ve slacked a bit on the blogging over the last week but I’m hoping to pick up again properly once I get back into a routine that doesn’t involve super late nights, oversleeping and… general family time chaos! Haha
I hope everyone had a great reading month and closure to the year!
Here’s to an amazing 2020 full of reading and bookish things 🙂
I love that you have a few holiday books! I always mean to read more of those in December and never seem to manage it.

I picked up quite a few holiday reads on Kindle in an attempt to read more festive books but only managed a few. I’m too much of a mood reader but might try to read one or two more in the coming months 😅

My sister and her family came and stayed with me for the holidays, too. I’m just now regrouping. LOL!

I’ve only just started regrouping. Everyone has been so organised with their 2019 wrap ups and 2020 prep posts and I’ve done nothing 🤣 Hope you had a great holiday, Ali!

Thank you! Considering how busy it was, I’m pretty happy with how much I managed to read in the end. Hope you had a great end to 2019 as well!
