Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

This Sunday I spent half of my day cosied up in my reading nook finishing The Crowns of Croswald. Holy granola, I finally finished that book 😭 After 2+ months reading it I told myself that if I didn’t finish it today I’d just DNF it but I did it. I feel like that’s such an achievement? 😅 I don’t know what it was about that book but it just really didn’t click with me. It really wasn’t my jam. It doesn’t feel great giving a low rating but I can’t not be honest with my feels. Review coming soon! I’ll be spending the rest of my night in bed with The Girl on the Ferris Wheel!

What are you currently reading?

Today is my last day of vacation and tomorrow I officially start working part-time! I’m quite sad my holiday is officially over–I just have to keep telling myself that I’ve still got long weekends to look forward to! 😂

I’ve really enjoyed my days off as I was able to get things sorted that I never had the time for before when I was working full-time. Although it meant that I cut into my uninterrupted reading time, I do feel quite accomplished having got a lot of ‘adulting’ sorted out. I did spend a lot more time out of the house this week than I have over the last 10 months combined, and I gotta honest, it’s been such a drainer! Being around people again even for “short” periods of time was… An experience? COVID/2020 seems to have made me even more of a socially anxious introvert than before and I don’t know what I’m gonna do when things start going back to “normal” 🙈

Aside from getting myself sorted out, I did also get some fun stuff done. I got some of the artwork that I received from past Illumicrate SE boxes framed and I hung them up today over my bed. The picture below doesn’t do it justice but I’m quite happy with how they look and they’ve made my room even *more* me! The jumpers that I bought from Illumicrate apparel also arrived in the mail and I’m so happy that I ordered them. Although I live in the tropics, I just couldn’t resist and have been cosying up in bed with them every night since 😂 I wish they had shirts with the same design cos I would’ve scooped them right up!

ADSOM/Villains, Nevernight, The Poppy War

I’ve slowed down on playing Animal Crossing this week as I’m kinda stumped with what to do on my island now. I did have fun taking some stalker-ish photos of my villagers enjoying island life though 😂 They’re SO adorable I can’t!

Over my holiday this past week I’ve managed to get some uninterrupted reading time although definitely not as much as I would’ve liked, especially with some blog tours coming up next week but it is what it is! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I decided on a whim this weekend that I would go ahead and attempt to do the 2021 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge in the hopes that this might be the year I actually finish it?! I made up a spreadsheet and listed potential reads for each prompt based on what I already have on my shelves, so I’m feeling good and organised about it!

This week was the start of my blog tours of 2021 and I think it’s also the week I decided that I’ve enjoyed mood reading too much in December to do too many tours this year. I went wild with them last year but I think this year I’ll be more discerning with what I sign up for. I also caught up with a bit of blog hopping and responding to comments today but hopefully this year will see me being better at keeping up with all of that, especially since I’ll have short work weeks! *fingers crossed* 😛

TRACK HIGHLIGHT

I’m still listening to disney lofi but this week I added some ghibli lofi and it’s *chefs kiss*! These playlists are perfect accompaniments while reading and writing and since it’s been raining quite a lot this week, it’s been even cosier having these playlists running all day in the background! ❤️

I hope you’ve all had a good weekend and that you have a great week ahead! Take care of yourselves and of each other, friends 🖤

  1. The Crowns of Croswold was a dnf for me. I just couldn’t get into it. I’m interested to find out what you think of Girl on the Ferris Wheel. It’s getting a bit of buzz lately. BTW – I love your shirt! 🙂 Hope you have a fabulous week!

    • I should’ve done the same as you, Julie! I was hitting struggle town real hard with that book. I can’t believe it lol made me so sad. I’m enjoying Girl on the Ferris Wheel (still finishing it up now). It’s definitely a little but on the juvenile side of YA but it has its funny moments! My full review will be up tomorrow! Hope you’re having a great week 😊

    • Omg, it was something, Leah! I can’t believe I stuck to it but I felt bad because the author’s team reached out to me and everything about it seemed like something I’d love but it was just a big fat no dice for me. Sad times! I’m defo aiming to be better with DNFing this year 🤣 Hope you’re having a fab week, lovely!

  2. It’s always hard when vacation is over! Sorry to hear the Crowns was a tough one to get through. And the AC pics are great- that game looks so fun. 🙂

Good luck with the Popsugar challenge!

    • Oh no! The art print came bent or the book? Lol. I hope the replacement is okay! My artwork corner was a bit bent but the framer flattened it out and the glass also keeps it flat so thankfully it looks okay! Hope you’re having a fab week, Joanna ❤️

      • It was the artwork! I still haven’t got my replacement yet but obviously it’s coming from overseas so it’s taking a long time. 😂

  3. The art prints look amazing framed. I hope your return to work was ok! Good luck with the Popsugar challenge, Dini!
I want to join some challenges too but the Popsugar challenge is kinda intimidating. 🙂
Hope you’re having a great week Dini!
