Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I spent part of my Sunday finishing up The Duke of Diamonds by Emily Windsor. I’m still on that romance kick and have been diving (sorta) deep into the supernatural romances, so I decided to change things up and read a regency romance! This was a slow-burn romance but the hero/heroine are easy to like and the writing was so witty and it made me laugh quite a bit. Looking forward to reading the next in the series (which is on Kindle Unlimited, if you’re interested)! 😉

In the coldest flint, there is fire…
Casper Brook, the eighth Duke of Rothwell, has forever spurned frivolous pleasures, his restless emotions remaining buried beneath duty and command.
Yet when a titian-haired minx perches upon his ducal desk and claims to know the whereabouts of his one burning obsession, a game of wits and passion erupts…

Fire ignites from a spark…
Miss Evelyn Pearce possesses naught but a frail young sister and an ebony-black cat. Left destitute by her baronet father’s spendthrift ways, fate and talent hand her the opportunity to seek escape from the dangerous alleys of London town.
The cold Duke of Diamonds holds the key, and all Evelyn must do is resist his not-so-cold kiss…

A dance of flaming desire…
A passion forged on secrets can never be satisfied, but as guises fall and plots unravel, will the duke’s controlled façade shatter to reveal his searching heart within?

Regency romance with warmth and wit. This book contains sensual scenes.

Work this week was intense as all three days I was part of a workshop that ran from 8am-5pm! We had a longer lunch break of an hour but presenting and listening to people talking in front of the screen every day really took it out of me. So I kinda went into “hibernation” mode the minute I clocked out on Wednesday afternoon and have been spending much of my time painting, reading and a little baking! Oh, and also watching lots of nostalgic movies: 27 Dresses, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Little Mermaid and Mulan. I also finally got around to watching the Folklore: Long Pond Studio Sessions and ah, it made me love this album even more!

The weekend passed by in a blink! My parents decided to spontaneously come back to Jakarta for mum’s birthday next week, and since we haven’t seen them for a couple of months it’ll be nice to have them back in the house for a while until they decide to head back to Bali again! So… I spent a lot of time cleaning up around the house this weekend and decided to bake ‘pocket apple pies’ as a treat—they might not look the best but they do taste great! 🤤

So I’ve spent a lot of time reading this week and hardly any time blogging or blog hopping… 🙈 This next week is going to be quite slow so I reckon I’ll find myself having a bit more time to do just that! I’m still in a strong romance mood (paranormal shifter romances were winning this weekend lol) although I feel that is slowly changing as it’s getting harder to find something that’ll keep my focus. Sometimes mood reading can be such a bummer!

  2. Glad to hear you liked The Duke of Diamonds, Dini! I liked the second book in the series even more than the first. And your pocket apple pies look so yummy! I hope you enjoy them and your time with your parents. 🙂

  3. Wow sounds like you had a really busy week, Dini! Hard approve of those nostalgic movies – I can’t wait to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas again as Halloween draws closer. Have you watched Prop Culture? One of the episodes is all about The Nightmare Before Christmas. 😀
