#WWWWednesday: 25 November

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Is it just me not reading anything this month or is anyone else also hitting struggle town? I feel like I’ve been reading but I’m clearly very mistaken. Since last Wednesday I’ve managed to finish two books.

The Cousins by Karen M. McManus ★★★★☆
I had so much fun with this and I literally couldn’t stop thinking about it when I had to put it down. I’m a fan of McManus’ YA mysteries and this one was probably my favourite. Our main characters are easily likeable and although not super action packed, the twists this story takes was a thrilling ride! I defo said my fair share of “OMG NO!” while reading! 🤣 My review for the blog tour is up Saturday!

A Scandalous Bargain (The Pretenders #2) by Darcy Burke ★★★½
This was another enjoyable historical romance by Burke! I loved the feisty heroine and our slightly “tortured soul” hero. It was fun to watch them get close as friends and eventually give into the sizzling chemistry–because oof, it was fire 🔥 There were some loose ends that I wish had been better tied up but overall, this was an entertaining story. Check out my review!

I’m making incredibly slow progress on The Crowns of Croswald… I don’t know why but I have such a hard time focusing when I go back to it, but I have a feeling the pace is going to start picking up soon (around 20%) so I will keep on with it! On a whim I picked up The Price of Temptation yesterday after seeing Julie’s review and I’m around 30% and enjoying it! As I worked on my shelf this weekend I started the audiobook for The Ten Thousand Doors of January (also on a whim) and wow, I love it plus the narrator is fab! But I haven’t picked it up again since because I really want to sit down and give it the proper attention it deserves, which will hopefully be this weekend! 🤩

I’ll be starting Amari and the Night Brothers after finishing my current reads as it’s for another upcoming TheWriteReads blog tour and it looks so good, I can’t wait!

How is your reading week going and what are you currently reading? Hope the rest of your week goes well!

    • Okay, so… Since I wrote this post I haven’t picked up Crowns of Croswald again… I feel like I’m definitely not in the right “focused” mindset for it but I’m going to attempt it once again tonight (I think)! I hope you managed to find a book that you enjoy this week and didn’t have more DNFs!

  1. Yey for the Cousins! I just finished it and loved it. Also really looking forward to pickup up Amari. Glad you’re enjoying Ten Thousand Doors of January, it was one of my favourite books from last year and Dini you NEED to pick up Kingdom of the Wicked 😂

    • I’m really keen to get started on Amari as well. Don’t know when I’ll pick it up but maybe tonight? I didn’t end up reading more of January this weekend coz I’ve been playing Animal Crossing (omg I’m terrible) 😂 but I know I really wanna give my full attention this book! … Same goes for Kingdom of the Wicked (really seems like I haven’t been reading anything this month lmao) 🙃🙈

    • The Cousins is probs my favourite of McManus’ books so far! Loved the characters, and wow, rich people are so freaking messy 😂 I haven’t read anything much this weekend at all coz I’ve been on Animal Crossing but I do want to get back to January’s doors! Lol Hope you enjoy The Cousins, Leslie!

    • Okay, so I didn’t end up loving it as much I hoped I would but I’m really curious about Sophie’s character and I hope she gets her story soon because I think I’ll definitely read it 😍 I still need to keep on with Spellbreaker but my concentration is just shot lately thanks to gaming 😅 Hope you enjoy it as well!
