Happy Friday book lovers! We’re back with another First Lines Friday, a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines? Here are the rules:
- Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
- Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
- Finally… reveal the book!

I read an excerpt of Foul is Fair and I was hooked! It sounds intensely and deliciously messed up, and like it might infuriate me too, but in the best way possible? I went out and bought it immediately.

Uh oh! I’ve heard some mixed reviews about it… Looking forward to seeing how I’ll feel about it coz that first chapter had me hooked! Lol

Oh, I’ve heard of this book, but I for sure never would’ve guessed it based on that opening. xD Revenge fantasy, huh? The Slytherin in me likes this idea. I look forward to seeing what you think of it when you read it.

Honestly, I never would’ve guessed it based on the cover? Haha yesh, totally cover judging but was pleasantly surprised by the chapter I read. I hope it continues for the rest of the book lol I’ve heard some mixed reviews but will defo let you know how it goes 😀

Hahaha I could see that happening? It does sound pretty dramatic but I think if I’m in the right mood it’ll be good 😂 I’ve definitely heard some mixed reviews though!
