As a mood reader, I’m not much of a TBR kinda person although some of these I do have to read before a certain date as they’re ARCs and for blog tours! The majority make up my possibility pile for the ‘fall’ season and while I’m not sure that I’ll get around to them this fall (again, it all depends on my mood), I’m still hoping to get them read at least before the year ends—and since they’ve made it onto a possibility pile, there’s a higher chance that I’ll get to them! 😊Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: 2021 Fall Possibilities…”
Well, this is a pretty straightforward prompt and I’ve decided to keep it simple this week. I’ll be listing books with numbers from one to ten, and I’ve read all except two* that are still on my TBR. I rated most of these 4-5 stars with one or two 3/3.5 stars, so they’re all titles that I’ve enjoyed a lot! Here we go 😉Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Easy as 1, 2, 3!”
As an emotional reader it doesn’t take much for a book to make me smile/laugh/cry so there were quite a lot of books to choose from for this prompt! I’m not much of a re-reader but even thinking about my reading experience with these books puts a smile on my face and manages to fill me up with warmth and it’s safe to say that I really enjoyed them! 🥰Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Books Guaranteed to Make You Smile!”
I thought I’d broaden today’s topic a little to go beyond fictional crushes and take a look at some of my latest fictional favourites. I’m quite a softie and so it honestly doesn’t take *that* much for a character to worm their way into my heart. I have empathised and rooted for all of these characters and while maybe not all of them are entirely ‘unique’ in their arcs, they made my reading experience amazing and made me enjoy the books even more! So on that note… Let’s take a look at some of my newest favourites:Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: New Fictional Favourites”
I don’t even know if this title makes sense… But I decided to twist the prompt a little today, so instead of books that I wish I could read again for the first time, I decided to look at books I rated 5-stars but can’t remember much about anymore, and so if I re-read them it would be like reading them for the first time (again)! That’s a mouthful and I think the title sounds much better than what I just said (maybe)? 😂
Anyway, I feel like I harp on a lot about how bad my memory is and well, it’s true! Lol, I tend to easily forget book details, especially if I read them quickly or I don’t take the time to properly let my thoughts/feelings settle before moving onto the next book. I read most of these before I started writing reviews, so despite giving them all 5-stars, you can probably imagine just how little I remember about these titles!
I feel like I might’ve done a similar post sort of recently (perhaps in the last year?) but I can’t remember… So we’re just gonna roll with it! Without further ado…Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Re-reading 5-star Books Like It Was the First Time!”
It’s been a long time since I’ve read anywhere other than at home but even looking back at all the places I have read or used to read, I’m still not sure I can come up with a list of ten! It can get particularly tricky for me because most of the time I do need a quiet space to read, or at least a space that makes me feel calm and comfortable, otherwise I’ll end up focusing on everything but my book! Anyway, let’s see how far I can get 😊Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: My Favourite Places to Read”
My first Top Ten Tuesday in ages and… I struggled? 😂 I didn’t expect this topic to be so difficult to answer because I love great supporting characters as they often help me connect to a main character or story even more. Thanks to my *cough* wonderful memory though, I was drawing blanks when it came down to thinking about what supporting characters deserve more love. Luckily, I looked at the prompt on Monday night so I had time to scour my shelves (and brain) for characters I wish had gotten more page time or who I think deserve their own stories, and I came up with a very random list from a mixed bag of genres!Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Secondary/Minor Characters Who Deserve More Love”
For this week’s topic I decided to focus on middle grade books because they have some of the BEST colourful covers! Maybe I’m biased because I love illustrated covers and middle grade books always serve hard when it comes to those. You can bet that if I had the money and the space, I would populate a whole section of shelves with these gorgeous books and it’d be fire 😍🔥 This list is a mix of books I’ve read and a few that are still waiting for me to pick them up!Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Colourful Middle Grade Covers!”
So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: Book Titles That Sound Like They Could Be Crayola Crayon Colors (Take a moment and Google some of the crazy Crayola crayon colors that exist. Can you think of any book titles that sound like they could also be a crayon color? It might be fun to include a description of the kind of color you’re picturing.)
This was a super fun topic but it was also hella hard because my imagination is weak? Or maybe it’s just too wild 😂 I definitely went a certain route for this one and thought about glittery crayons. I honestly don’t even know what crayons are like today (i.e. how cool have they become?!)—I think I remember the peak of crayon coolness back then was actually the glittery ones? Maybe? I don’t know. Some of these (okay, pretty much all of them) were kinda obvious choices based on the obvious titles but some were also heavily influenced by the cover colours. That said, here we go:Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Bookish Crayon Colours”
Well, this was a pretty fun topic! Thankfully I have Goodreads to remind me of all the books that I’ve rated one-two stars and these are the books that I’ll feature in today’s post. I’m gonna keep it simple and just link the book titles to the Goodreads pages. Most of these I read ages ago and so I didn’t actually write reviews for them but they are also books I will never ever revisit so it is what it is? 😂 I’m really not good at chucking books (just thinking of all the books I’ve read once and didn’t fully enjoy that are still sitting on my shelf but I’d gladly do away with these!
I’m also gonna say: please don’t take offense if one of these was a favourite of yours or if you really enjoyed it—we all have different tastes, and we can’t like all the books we read, right? On that note, let’s get to it:Continue reading “#TopTenTuesday: Books Overboard (Buh-Bye)!”
