#WWWWednesday: 16 March 2022

Hello, hello and welcome back to another episode of WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:

  1. What did you read last?
  2. What are you currently reading?
  3. What will you read next?

Is it just me or are the days FLYING by?! Since last week I’ve read five books. Unsurprisingly, most of my reads were romances cos it seems to be the only genre I can happily read in my weird mood that I can’t shake. I admit it’s a little frustrating when I want to read the other books on my TBR and yet nothing else seems to catch! 😂

We Hunt the Flame (Sands of Arawiya #1) by Hafsah Faizal ★★★★½
This was a buddy read with Leslie @ Book Are the New Black & Julie @ One Book More! A good chunk of the beginning was quite a struggle to get through but we all ended up really enjoying the book and came up with some wild and exciting theories for book two! I’m so excited to read the sequel with them next month 😍

(ARC) Anything But Fine by Tobias Madden ★★★½
This was a well-written and engaging YA contemporary debut that sent me running down memory lane as I used to live in Australia and I’m familiar with many of the places mentioned in the book. It was fab! My blog tour review + journal spread is going up tomorrow! 😃

Thirsty & Trashed (Eastside Brewery #1 & #2) by Mia Hopkins ★★★½
I discovered Mia Hopkins through an awesome tweet she made a little while back and it made me wanna check out her books ASAP! This series focuses on two formerly incarcerated ex-gangsters who decide to start a brewery. I loved how vulnerable both H’s were and I loved how, in contrast, the h’s were such pillars of strength. I can’t wait for the third book!

Blind Pass (Carolina Comets #2) by Teagan Hunter ★★★★½
I knew I was going to love Ryan and Rhodes but I wasn’t ready for how weak Rhodes would make me and it was so rude! 🥲 There was this vulnerable moment followed up by him falling onto his knees for her and Hunter, have mercy, it was insanely hot!! 🥵 If you love marriage-of-convenience/grumpy-sunshine sports romance with lots of cheeky banter, I would recommend checking this out!

I’m currently buddy reading The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater with Leslie! I’ve heard so much about this series so I’m glad to finally be reading it. I have to say that I’m kind of shook by how different it is from what I expected? Like, it’s nothing at all like I thought it’d be (lol) but at this moment I’m not minding it and at 48% I’m getting pretty into the story! 😂

Five out of six of these are ARCs so they’re gonna get read at some point in the next week(ish)!

What’re you currently reading? Have you read any of these books or are they also on your TBR? Happy reading, friends! 😍
