Jasmine Allen believes in bad luck, great wine, and the seductive power of a stiletto heel. What she doesn’t believe in is love. Her life is perfect without all that romance rubbish—until a plumbing disaster screws everything up and leaves Jas homeless. Luckily, she has someone to turn to: her best friend Rahul.

For seven years, Rahul Khan has followed three simple rules.
* Don’t touch Jasmine if you can help it.
* Don’t look at her arse in that skirt.
* And don’t ever—ever—tell her you love her.
He should’ve added another rule: Do not, under any circumstances, let Jas move into your house.

Now Rahul is living with the friend he can’t have, and it’s decimating his control. He knows their shared dinners aren’t dates, their late-night kisses are a mistake, and the tenderness in Jasmine’s gaze is only temporary. One wrong word could send his skittish best friend running.
So why is he tempted to risk it all?

This book was previously published as Wanna Bet?. The Roommate Risk is a steamy, standalone, diverse romance. This book is 75,000 words of fluff, angst, and extreme pleasure, with NO cliffhangers, NO cheating, and a guaranteed HEA. Please be aware: this story contains themes of parental neglect and abandonment, parental death, and alcohol dependence that could trigger certain audiences.

TL;DR: Talia Hibbert can do no wrong. Although this was a tad bit more angsty than I usually enjoy, I couldn’t help but fall head over feet for Jas and especially Rahul. Who gave that man permission to be so perfect? Please! Their chemistry was sizzling, their character development so satisfying and their romance heated things up something fierce! 🥵

Talia Hibbert had me caught up in MY FEELS with this angsty friends to lovers romance! While I did like Jasmine and absolutely loved her personal growth, it was Rahul who undoubtedly stole the show for me. The way he was so in love with Jas for SEVEN YEARS and ready to give her everything and anything. The way he cared for her and understood her better than anyone else. The way he pined for her hurt so good! Plus, the way his soft, sweet and nerdy demeanour turned slightly dominant in the bedroom was holy hotness! Pls, how is he so perfect? 😭 Let me just say that if you loved Zaf in Dani Brown’s story then you’re sure to love Rahul as well! ❤️

This was so much more emotional than I expected and it does have a slightly darker tone compared to Hibbert’s other romances that I’ve read. It surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) had me crying at the end as these two worked on themselves to be together and I really felt their heartache and pain in my bones. And while it does get angsty, Hibbert knows how to reel it in and not make it unbearable! She also balances the romance and friendship aspect really well and I liked being able to see both sides to Jas and Rahul’s relationship and how it evolved over time. I’m not usually a fan of flashbacks but it really worked for their story as it illustrated how solid their friendship is and how they get to where they are now. Oh, and when they finally tip the scales of friendship into “benefits” territory, their chemistry leads to some steamy AF scenes that had me melting 🥵 The way Rahul literally worshipped Jas’ body!!! Perfection.

Overall, this was another fantastic romance by Hibbert. I love how realistic and relatable her characters are and Jas and Rahul were no exception. Highly recommended if you love the friends to lovers trope, a good dose of steaminess and a fun read that you won’t wanna put down until the end!
