Goodreads – I’m pretty sure that this is going to be on everyone’s list. I joined in 2012 but only started using it “properly” in 2018ish? It’s where I keep track of what I’m reading (most of the time) and most importantly, what I’ve read, but it’s also what I turn to to make my reading decisions! There’s so much about the site that I wish they’d improve but it’s still convenient to use. I like is that it’s so easy to keep track of my Kindle reads, notes and quotes (yes, because it’s linked to Amazon)!

Scribd – A great place to read books and listen to audiobooks for a great price every month! I was with Scribd for 6 months while I was trialing whether or not I wanted to get serious with audiobooks, and they had some great options on there that helped me decide to take the plunge. This is a great subscription if you listen to a lot of audiobooks!

Audible – I prefer to use Audible because although I do listen to some audiobooks, I don’t listen to them a lot. You get one monthly credit with your subscription and for me, that’s more than enough to stock up on and then spend in (almost) one go when I’m in more of an audio mood. They also have some great original dramatised versions of classics that I really enjoy!

Kindle Unlimited – As an international reader who doesn’t have access to libraries and other ‘free’ resources, this subscription has given me access to a lot of books that I probably wouldn’t have been able to read otherwise (mostly because of cost reasons). I find this subscription great particularly when I’m looking for romances and indie SFF books!

Bookstagram – I I don’t use bookstagram a lot anymore but that platform is where it all started for me! Not only do you get gorgeous bookish photos but there’s a pretty great bookish community there. I personally found it easy to find recommendations for everything but mostly: Adult Contemporary, Thrillers, Romance and YA SFF!

Book Twitter – I know this bird app can be toxic AF a lot of the time but aside from the mounds of drama, there are so many communities to join, ad threads and lists to follow! I’ve found so many recommendations on here and I’m pretty sure my TBR has grown exponentially since I started regularly using Twitter 😂 I find it’s particularly great for discovering indie authors and romance!

The Write Reads – Speaking of good things happening cos of the bird app, The Write Reads was one of the first bookish community accounts I followed and from there I discovered so many kind and positive book lovers who have been amazing. They’re so helpful and supportive and there are so many book bloggers connected through the network, I honestly don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t discovered them!

Bookbub – I honestly don’t know how I came across Bookbub but I now get tailored weekly emails with exciting ebook deals (lots of 99p deals and sometimes there will even be a FREE book on the list)! It’s great if you want to buy something and don’t want to feel too guilty and for discovering new titles at a lower price. 😊

Top Ten Tuesday – Is it weird to include this weekly meme? I don’t think so! Honestly, I’ve discovered so many new blogs via the TTT weekly posts. I remember when I first came across this meme I had no idea whether I could just join and I was so nervous to do it but I’m so glad that I did. I love seeing everyone’s posts each week and everyone is always so encouraging and supportive. It’s so nice to find commonalities in these posts and even nicer to discover new things!
