Ugh, I’ve been hitting struggle town real hard since last week but… is it just me or is this week lasting forever? I can’t believe it’s Wednesday but I really wish it was already Friday 😂

It’s been a slow time for reading lately and it’s not just playing my Switch that has me distracted. I’ve been in a reading mood but haven’t been able to really settle on anything lately, and since last week I’ve only managed to finish three books.

Beneath Black Sails (Beneath Black Sails #1) by Clare Sager ★★★★☆
This was an undeniably fun, fast-paced and action-packed story that was able to fully absorb my attention and that’s why I’ve rounded up and kept my review at four stars. There are things that irritated me about the characters and the world-building was lacking, but this was the most pirate filled (romance)fantasy that I’ve ever read and I was here for its pure entertainment. Against Dark Tides (Beneath Black Sails #2) by Clare Sager ★★¾?
Well, after really enjoying book one I was incredibly disappointed with book two. While the hero had irritating moments, the heroine made it so difficult to like this book and it was the worst 😭 There’s also a lot of romantic angst that I didn’t care for. But there was still enough pirating and high-seas adventure for me to keep reading. Plus, Perry was a fantastic character! I think I will read book three coz I made it this far and I’m curious to see if our H/H will change, but let’s see! Review coming soon.

Inside Voices by Sarah Davis ★★★½?
I finished this last night and I’m still not sure if it’s a 3 or 3.5 star read. It was definitely an interesting debut with a great premise that I think had lots of great potential, but imo, the execution just wasn’t quite there. Looking at the ratings on Goodreads, I definitely seem to be in the minority with my thoughts though, but overall I am glad I read it! My tour review will be up tomorrow 🙂

I’m still going with The Song of the Marked but I haven’t really been giving it the attention it deserves because of my fickle mood. I’ve made a bit of progress on it and honestly, I really liked what I’ve read so far. I have a feeling the banter is going to my favourite part of this book because I’ve already had a good laugh a few times. But my priority right now is finishing Love Offline for the tour this week. It’s going well so far and perhaps what I need is a good ‘palate cleansing’ romance before jumping back in with the fantasies?

I have quite a few ARCs that I need to get to 😅 and these are but three of them. I’m not sure what I’ll be picking up first but I think I might save Kingdom of the Wicked for the weekend as it seems spooky and might be more of a day-time read! I’m just gonna wing it and flow with my moods.
