Welcome back to Goodreads Monday! It’s been a very hot minute since I did one but I figured I might as well get back into it! This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners and it invites you to pick a book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it. Easy enough, right? Feel free to join in if you want to! I’ll be using a random number generator to pick my books from my insanely long GR Want-to-read list.
This week’s featured book is The Survivors by Jane Harper. This is mystery thriller that was published a few weeks ago and has a 4.18 star rating on Goodreads.
The compelling new novel from Jane Harper, the New York Times bestselling author of The Dry.
Kieran Elliott’s life changed forever on the day a reckless mistake led to devastating consequences.
The guilt that still haunts him resurfaces during a visit with his young family to the small coastal town he once called home.
Kieran’s parents are struggling in a community which is bound, for better or worse, to the sea, that is both a lifeline and a threat. Between them all is his absent brother, Finn.
When a body is discovered on the beach, long-held secrets threaten to emerge. A sunken wreck, a missing girl, and questions that have never washed away…
Why do I want to read it?
If you didn’t know, I’m a huge Jane Harper fan. I’ve read all of her books now, but it didn’t take long for me to become a fan and she very quickly became an auto-buy author! I’m sad she only has four books (this being the fourth) because I want more! Her writing is incredibly atmospheric and I love how she weaves her mysteries and keeps you hanging on tightly to the edge of your seat until the very end. I’m notoriously bad at guessing whodunits so it’s no surprise that I’ve never been able to solve her mysteries 😂 But seriously, if you want fantastic atmospheric reads set against the backdrop of Australia’s brutal and beautiful environment, you won’t want to miss her books! If it isn’t clear, I can’t wait to read The Survivors. It sounds like another unputdownable read 😍
Have you read The Survivors or is it on your TBR?

I haven’t read any of her books but this one does look intriguing and I love the cover!

I love Jane Harper’s books so much. It’s definitely on the slower side of mysteries but the atmospheric writing just sucks you in. Can’t wait to dive into this one 🙂
