So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: Book Covers with Fall Colours/Vibes (or spring if you live in the southern hemisphere)
Although I live in the tropics, I have lived in places where there were multiple seasons and unsurprisingly, autumn was my favourite! 🍂 I’ve always preferred cold weather to warm weather because I love bundling up under my doona and fluffy throws, and covering myself in oversized cardis/jumpers. At least when it’s cold you can wear multiple layers — when it’s hot you can’t exactly go around in the nude 😂 BUT I DIGRESS!!! 🤣
When I think of autumn I think red, yellow, orange, and black, falling leaves, spooky reads thanks to Halloween, but also cosy romances too! So today’s is going to be a mix of all those, and I realised I do have more spooky reads on my TBR than I expected. Look at me branching out of my comfort zone! 🎃
Woven in Moonlight
House of Earth and Blood
The Vampire Knitting Club
Children
Wild at Heart
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell
The Paper Magician
Small Spaces
Pax
The Year of the Witching
Are you a seasonal reader? What makes you classify a book as an “autumn/fall” read?
Great list, Dini! I really want to give Small Spaces a try and The Vampire Knitting Club sounds so cute. I haven’t read any Sarah J. Maas, but I’ve heard so many good things about her new book that I do wonder if I should give it a try.

Thanks Jess! I can’t wait to give all these books a try although I’m probs most intimidated by Small Spaces even knowing it’s MG 😂 I’m too much of a scaredy! But I hope you also enjoy them if you give them a try!

Great post. There’s definitely something about foxes that make me think of autumn 🙂

Right? Foxes also make me think of autumn. Maybe it’s their colouring but this cover with the leaves all around also made me think of fall 🙂

I was considering putting House of Earth and Blood on my list. And I love the cover for Small Spaces! Awesome list, as usual. 💕

I love that you were able to incorporate all the different genres this week. I adore that Small Spaces cover—so deliciously creepy and appropriate for Halloween. But then, Wild at Heart looks so cozy! You’ve run the gamut on fall of fall books.

I’m quite chuffed I was able to manage that too actually 😂 Haha it’s really indicative of my moods as a mood reader as well, so I thought it was fitting!

Ohhh.. how did I forget Crescent City?!?! Great picks!! I still need to read Woven in Moonlight. I’ve been on a hold list for Year of the Witching for, forever! My library is really dragging with its e-book service! I’m trying not to buy every book I want to read but I’m getting impatient! lol

I don’t know what the ‘normal’ cover for Strange and Norrell is but I’m so glad I came across this one — I scooped it right up 😍 It’s so beautiful!

I don’t think there really is just the one cover. My cover at least is not spectacular, I prefer the one you showed, but I once got my book for 2 or 3 euros, so I cannot complain too much 😉

Small Spaces is one of my favourite covers EVER. And I love that cover of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, I’ve only seen the black one before. Also, what’s a doona? Like a duvet? 😅

I really like Arden’s MG covers and whenever I see them I always want to add these books to my TBR 🤣 but I’m suuuuuch a scaredy when it comes to ghosty things I always hesitate (even knowing it’s MG) LOL. Oh and yes, a doona is a duvet 😂 It’s stuck around from my Aussie days! Haha

Aah, I really need to read it but I’ve been putting it off because Calla and Jonah give me such feels haha I know there’s a novella coming out in December (I think) so maybe I’ll wait to read Wild at Heart so that I can read the novella right away 😂

The Year of the Witching is on my TBR too and I’m scared. 😅That Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell edition is so stunning! I really need to read the Simple Wild series, it sounds so good. You need to read House of Earth and Blood, Dini, I think you’re going to love it. Great picks!

Haha I’m scared too, Andie! I’ve heard it’s really good though so I need to properly gear myself up for it 😂 I need to finish the Simple Wild series but I know there’s a novella coming out in December (I think?) so maybe I’ll wait to continue when that comes out! I hope you enjoy it–I think you will 😉
