Welcome back to Goodreads Monday! It’s been a very hot minute since I did one but I figured I might as well get back into it! This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners and it invites you to pick a book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it. Easy enough, right? Feel free to join in if you want to! I’ll be using a random number generator to pick my books from my insanely long GR Want-to-read list.
This week’s featured book is In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. This is a contemporary romance that’s actually not out yet (Pub Date: 20 October 2020) but it has a 4.12 star rating on Goodreads (with almost 1k ratings and 800 reviews)!
Love Actually meets Groundhog Day in the quintessential holiday romance by the New York Times bestselling author of The Honey-Don’t List.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions.
But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world—the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families. Mentally melting down as she drives away from the cabin for the final time, Mae throws out what she thinks is a simple plea to the universe: Please. Show me what will make me happy.
The next thing she knows, tires screech and metal collides, everything goes black. But when Mae gasps awake…she’s on an airplane bound for Utah, where she begins the same holiday all over again. With one hilarious disaster after another sending her back to the plane, Mae must figure out how to break free of the strange time loop—and finally get her true love under the mistletoe.
Jam-packed with yuletide cheer, an unforgettable cast of characters, and Christina Lauren’s trademark “downright hilarious” (Helen Hoang, author of The Bride Test) hijinks, this swoon-worthy romantic read will make you believe in the power of wishes and the magic of the holidays.
Why do I want to read it?
Funnily enough, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to add this to my TBR, not because I don’t love CLo but because I still have so many of their books on my digital and physical shelves that need reading… Then I read a review for it (can’t remember where now) and now the pub date can’t get here soon enough! I want to read this ASAP (*coughASAPcough*). Love Actually + Groundhog Day, you say? Definitely count me in! Plus, with CLo you know you’re always in for a good time. Their stories never fail to make me laugh and also, you know me, I just love love! Can’t wait to get my hands on this one 🥰 It sounds like so much fun!
Have you read In a Holidaze or is it on your TBR?

I want to read this one so bad, too! I was pretty bummed I didn’t get an ARC, but I just keep telling myself it means I can read it closer to the holidays. 😉

Right!? It looks like the perfect holiday read — I know the cover alone gives me those warm holiday vibes. I think it would be a perfect read to savour then 😉 I hope we both enjoy it, Dedra!
