Sundays in Bed With… #MyWeeklyWrapUp

We’re back with another Sundays in Bed With… meme! This meme dares to ask you what book has been in your bed this morning and is hosted by Midnight Book Girl. Come share what book you’ve been you’ve spent time curled up reading in bed with, or which book you wish you had time to read today!

I’m finally doing it friends. This book has been on my TBR for what feels like forever and I’ve seen it hyped left, right, and centre and I’ve been so excited to read it but also scared that I won’t love it as much as everyone but my fears were unfounded.

This Sunday I’ve spent the majority of the day attached to my lazy-boy chair and my Kindle reading Get A Life, Chloe Brown. My heart can’t handle the feels. Chloe’s sass is amazing but RED. Red has won my heart ❤️ Started the book this morning but I’m already near to finishing it tonight. Now the question is: should I pick up Dani Brown immediately after?

What are you currently reading?

This week has been marginally better than last week. I can’t believe another weekend has come and gone already and we’re already moving into a new month in two days! 2020 has been… I mean, I don’t think I have to say what kind of year 2020 is. We’re all living this hellacious year and experiencing the hellacious-ness to varying degrees so we know what this year has been.

The worst news was learning that Chadwick Boseman passed this weekend. When my sister told me as we were getting ready to head to the supermarket on Saturday morning, I just screamed “SHUT THE F UP” and then we had a bit of a weepy moment for an actor who brought amazing characters to life and who brought so much joy to people globally. It’s so so sad. Heartbreaking. No words.

Rest.

Reading & Blogging Recap

Overall, this week of reading and blogging has been pretty average. I feel like I have read a little more than the previous week but my brain could only be tricking me into believing that because I can’t actually recall how much I’ve read right now. That said, I did hit my 100 book goal on Goodreads after I finished Fable last night! I’m debating whether I should up my goal or if I should just leave it at this? 🤔

I did a little bit more blog hopping this week, but I feel as if I’m not yet reaching as many people as I used to and it has me wondering whose posts I’m not seeing! On that note, here’s what I posted this week ICYMI:

Top 5 Saturday: Young Adult Detective Books
First Lines Friday: 29 August
Blog Tour Review: His Only Wife by Peace Adzo Medie
Currently Reading Book Tag
#WWWWednesday: 26 August
#TopTenTuesday: Questions I’d Ask My Favourite Authors
eARC Graphic Novel Review: Fangs by Sarah Andersen
#5OnMyTBR: Ensemble Cast
Goodreads Monday: Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano

  1. I was so super bummed to hear that we lost the Black Panther!! I was quite stunned when my kids shared the news with me. So sad!! I’m so excited to hear how much you enjoyed Get a Life! I have been holding off on that one, too, thinking I wouldn’t enjoy it as much as everyone else.

  2. I recently got Get a Life Chloe Brown on Kindle as well, but I honestly don’t know when I will read it… September will be all about fantasies, October is the spooky month. November will probably have 0 reading and then it’s December and all the Christmas-y book… the struggle is real 😀

  3. Congrats on hitting your Goodreads goal! I just upped mine from 80 to 100. I guess that’s one good thing out of this year, I’ve read more than usual. And hellacious is a perfect way to describe 2020. Ugh. I’m glad you enjoyed Chloe Brown! I still need to pick up the next one. 🙂
