So, we’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: Top Ten Tuesday Turns 10! Option 1: pick a past TTT topic you’ve done and re-do/update it (Perhaps you’d remove certain books you put on the list back when you first wrote it, or perhaps you have 10 MORE books you’d add to that list now. You could also re-visit TBR posts, whether seasonal or series you need to finish, etc., and tell us if you’ve read them yet or not. Any variation of this idea works. Feel free to be creative.) Option 2: pick a past TTT topic you wish you’d done, but didn’t get a chance to do (the list of topics is below).

Happy Birthday, TTT! What an incredible feat to have such a successful weekly meme that has been running for 10 years with over 500 topics. Very inspiring 🥰 I remember the first time I came across a TTT post and thought wow, I wanna join in the fun! It was in the ‘early days’ of my blogging journey and I remember questioning whether I would even be allowed to do the TTT posts because I was a total noob! Then I remember writing it in March and saying that I suck at making lists (and that’s still very true) and because of that I thought I might not do TTTs regularly. Well, more than one year later and I’ve only missed a small handful of topics and it has quickly become my favourite weekly meme. I’m so glad that I didn’t let my noob fears stop me from doing it and I’ve discovered so many new blogs/blogging friends through it. It has been an awesome experience being part of an amazing community and I hope to continue with it every week for as long as this blog is alive 💜💙💜
For this week’s topic I decided to go with a slightly tweaked version of option one and share with you a list of ten of the TTTs that I’ve done including the very first one. I might include updated notes or comments on some of these but not all because (let’s be real) I’m lazy AF and some of them might not need any changing/updating!
So without further ado, let’s take that stroll down Top10 (memory) lane!

#TopTenTuesday: Audio Freebie
When I wrote this post I had only listened to four audiobooks and while I haven’t listened to that many more since then, I think I’ve upped my total to about 10? I don’t normally listen to them as I have a super short attention span, but I have found some new all-time favourites: The Nevernight Chronicle, Sadie, and Daisy Jones and the Six! 💜
#TopTenTuesday: Things That Make Me Pick Up A Book
This was my second TTT and I listed the more generic to much more specific reasons. I honestly don’t have anything to update because all of this is still very much true!
#TopTenTuesday: Characters that Remind Me of Myself
Since May 2019 I’ve read more books with characters that do remind me of myself–not wholly but at least bits and pieces of myself, including Nina Hill from The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, Deja AND Josie from Pumpkinheads, Jessica Pan (who isn’t a character but we’ll ignore that) from Sorry I’m Late I Didn’t Want to Come, and Elisabeth Scrivener from Sorcery of Thorns, to name a few.
#TopTenTuesday: Books That Are Off Limits
The only thing to update on this list would be the number of Owlcrate editions that I’ve added to my collection from my monthly subscription. Plus my Illumicrate Nevernight Chronicle editions! Oh, and the third book of the Shades of Magic series (because obviously)… LOL
#TopTenTuesday: Unpopular Book(ish) Opinions
Yikes… Do I have anything to add? Just a few. I have one very unpopular bookish opinion about Red, White & Royal Blue. I enjoyed it enough but I didn’t love it like 99.9% of the book community. Am I heartless? Also, I read The Night Circus and it was just okay… I was honestly a little bored. Also, I loved Normal People by Sally Rooney and I know a lot of others loved it too but I think the majority didn’t.
#TopTenTuesday: Bookish Characters I’d Like to Befriend!
Omg, if I were to list all the new characters I’d like to add to this list it might be endless. I’ve read so many amazing books with awesome characters since writing this in July 2019 and I wouldn’t even know where to start with listing all my new faves, so I’ll leave this as is 😂
#TopTenTuesday: Autobuy Authors
Oh I’ve definitely added to this list and I realise a lot of them are romance authors because I’ve been doing a lot of romance reading but there are non-romance authors too, of course! To name a “few”: Mariana Zapata, Meghan Quinn, Rin Chupeco, Kate Stewart, Elizabeth Lim, Elizabeth Acevedo, Colson Whitehead…
#TopTenTuesday: Books from A Genre I Want to Read More Of…
Embarrassingly only one of the books on this TTT has made it off the list (Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule). The others are still sitting untouched on my physical shelves and *for shame* 🙈
#TopTenTuesday: Books I Enjoyed Outside My Comfort Zone
I have a few more to add to this include Rules for Vanishing and Harrow Lake! Both are of the horror variety and we all know that I’m The Ultimate Chicken™️ 😜
#TopTenTuesday: Spring 2020 Possibility Pile!
I’m basically calling myself out with this one because I’ve only read three of the books that I said I wanted to. As a mood reader, the chaotic world events have not been great for reading. I’ve been feeling irritable, anxious, restless, and all that negative stuff which has made it very hard to focus on reading. But also, Animal Crossing. That is all 🙃

Well, that was a fun trip down Top10 memory lane!
How long have you been participating in TTT?

Honestly, I had the same reaction to TTT when I first came across it. It was a bit intimidating at first, but our community is so welcoming.
You did a wonderful job on your list this week and always, Dini. Thanks for stopping by mine.

I know some people love the freedom of freebie topics but I’m almost always at a loss when left to my own devices. LOL But TTT has always been my favorite meme. 🙂

LOL same here. I always struggle to come up with something “cool” 😂 but it still is my favourite meme too!

Great list! I’ve heard so many good things about the audiobooks of Sadie and Daisy Jones & The Six. 😀 I think the I can borrow the Daisy Jones audiobook from my library, so I need to get on that!

Ooh yes, I would definitely recommend consuming it that way! I think it makes a huge difference. Sadie really surprised me as I’d heard some mixed reviews of the story but the audiobook was one of the best I’ve listened to 😀 I hope you enjoy them, Jess!

Great list! I’m with you on audiobooks! I’d like to get into them more, but I just haven’t really. 🙂

I’m really particular with audiobooks. I definitely have to be in the right mood for them and I need to make myself really focus at the start otherwise I just auto tune-out without even realising 😂

I love how you decided to do this one! It’s so beautiful and it makes me feel so nostalgic 🥰

Thanks so much ❤ It was definitely fun to look back on how many I'd done! Totally forgot about plenty of these topics 😅

Great List!!! Last month I tried to read Red, White and Royal Blue. I admit I didn’t get to far before I put it down for other books and I will definitely give it another try but the point is in whatever I read I didn’t enjoy it that much, it was funny but it got a bit too political for me. Hopefully if I persevere it will get better but given the hype I thought RWRB will be so good that as soon as I start I will not be able to put this down and will spend a sleepless night reading it.

It was definitely more political than I thought it’d be. But I think the characters’ attitudes frustrated me more than anything 😂 I just didn’t connect with them as much as I thought I would. Henry was a gem though ❤ I hope you find it easier to get into the second time around!

I love what you chose for the prompt! I used to do TTT every week for the first couple years-ish of blogging, now I just pop on and do it sporadically whenever I love a prompt ❤

That’s fair. I think other than reviews the majority of my posts are weekly memes (how unoriginal of me) but I love doing them 😀 I’m so glad I discovered this TTT community!

It took me a while to get into TTT too for pretty much the same reason. It’s my favorite though and I always make sure to blog hop on this day!! The amount of books added to my TBR & Read like from this meme is insane!! I love it!! 😍😍😍

I definitely love seeing how everyone’s answered prompts. I try to blog hop the most on this day and I usually succeed although these months have been a bit of a struggle 😂 But haha I totally agree — my TBR has definitely grown heaps since joining the TTT community! I love it but my savings definitely don’t haha 🤣

Oh yeah, my book shelves are about to explode and my bank account has decreased a lot because of all the recommended books! Especially, over the last few months! haha. I know, I haven’t been the greatest responding lately. I only get time IF my boy goes to sleep early enough at night! 😀

*gasp* You didn’t love the Night Circus?! I don’t know if I can follow this blog anymore. haha I’m just kidding of course. I kind of love how everyone has such different opinions. It makes things a lot more interesting I think! Great post 🙂

Hahaha I know! Look at me with the unpopular opinions 😂 I was all geared up and ready to fall head over heels for it but it just didn’t sweep me away the same way it did for others. I can see why people love it though!

We have some unpopular book(ish) opinions in common! Namely the books that we found boring, although I haven’t read Red, White, and Royal Blue yet, mainly because I was concerned that it was so hyped and I wouldn’t love it.

YAY to similar unpopular book(ish) opinions! 😂 I’m so glad to hear that others felt the same. I really felt in the minority. I know that’s defo the case with RW&RB but it was so character driven and I didn’t feel that connected or endeared to our MC so that was a struggle. BUT if you do pick it up, I hope you enjoy it 😀

I’m most likely not going to read it. Character driven books usually don’t do it for me. I remember reading The Night Circus and not getting what all the hype was about since everyone was raving about it.

What a great choice for this week, Dini! I enjoyed getting to read some of your older TTTs that I wasn’t around for yet. And I share your unpopular opinion on Night Circus and Normal People. 😉

When I discovered Top Ten Tuesday, I also wondered whether or not I should join. I’m glad I jumped in because it’s fun and the community is friendly. Great spin on the topic! It’s fun to look back on stuff you wrote in the past. I like your “Unpopular Book(ish) Opinions” post. I feel the SAME way about One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez… (¬_¬) lol
Here’s my TTT list.
