Hi, friends! It’s Monday but I for one am trying to forget that it’s Monday and it’s pretty much working. I’m not going to repeat how all over the place I’m feeling at the moment, as I’m sure you are too, so I’m going to focus on the good things. Such as this new weekly Monday meme called #5OnMyTBR created by the wonderful E @ The Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. Get excited friends because it’s time to dig even further into our TBRs! Here’s what E has to say about the meme:
Every Monday I (and hopefully you) will be posting about 5 (or your prefered number) books that are on my TBR.
I will be providing prompts but it’s up to you if you want to use them. If you would rather use yours or just post random books from your TBR — that’s fine! Just join the fun!
#5OnMyTBR Announcement Post
You’re free to use the graphic she created for the meme! Don’t forget to include the hashtag #5OnMyTBR and pingback to the announcement post. You can also check this page regularly to easily find the prompts!

Now without further ado, let’s get to the first prompt: RomComs!
Anyone who follows me knows that I am a big fan of the romcoms. Bring on all the feel good, swoon-worthy and hilarious reads that will keep me up reading until the wee hours of the morning! I might come off as a pessimistic non-believer of love in real life but that couldn’t be further from the truth because deep down I am a hopeless romantic. Honestly, romcoms are kind of like my kryptonite? So it’s no surprise then that I will have quite a few on my TBR.

First up is Get A Life, Chloe Brown. I honestly don’t even know why I haven’t read this book yet because I have heard very few negative things about it. Those who didn’t like it or DNF’d it said the vulgar sex talk wasn’t their jam, but that they liked the characters and the book’s topic. I’m really excited to finally pick this one up and I just might do that… Tonight? I reckon it’s time 🤣
Fix Her Up is another book that is insanely hyped and that has been on my TBR for what seems like forever. If I have to be honest, I heard some negative reviews that really stuck in my mind and I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read it anymore. But I’ve also seen a lot of friends who love romances that really enjoyed it so I might as well just give it a go, especially since it’s already on my Kindle?
I will never not sing the song whenever I see the title Don’t You Forget About Me (it also always makes me wanna re-watch the Breakfast Club really badly)! First of all, I’m just a sucker for this cover (hellow doggo!) but I also remember reading a Mhairi McFarlane book a very long time ago and falling completely in love with it. It made me laugh, cry and my heart ache in the best ways. So I’m excited to read another one of her books. I’m hoping it’ll give me the same feels!
Of course Christina Lauren is on this list! My Favorite Half-Night Stand is the first CLo book that I have as a physical copy because they don’t normally sell contemporary romances here. So you can bet I scooped it up right away! It sounds adorable and I do love some texting in books 😍

The Guy in the Middle is the third book in The Underdogs series. This series is a recent-ish discovery but it’s now one of my favourite romcom series. I love these guys so much so I have slightly big expectations for this third book. I’m really hoping that it lives up to the love I have of the first two! 🤞🏽
These are just five of the romcoms that are high up on my TBR right now! Have you read any of these or are they on your TBR too?

I’ve seen Get A Life Chloe Brown on a few TBR lists – I think it looks really cute. Happy reading!

What an awesome new meme! I’ll have to try and take part.
I’ve read Fix Her Up and My Favorite Half Night Stand and they were both fun. I definitely want to start that Kate Stewart series!

I think it’ll be a fun meme so join in whenever you can if you like 😀
I just unearthed my copy of Half Night Stand from the box of books I never finished unpacking when I moved, so I *might* dive into it tonight? I think it’s time to knock it off the TBR 🤣 I hope you enjoy the Kate Stewart series as much as I’ve been enjoying it 😍

This sounds like a fun meme! I’ll have to see if I have time to squeeze it in. I recommend listening to Fix Her Up. It seems that those that have listened to it have enjoyed it better than those that have read a physical or ecopy. I’m guessing it comes down to the inflections people tend to add themselves vs the inflections in the narrator’s voice.

I saw that you did it and I’m so glad you joined 😀 You know, I’ve never actually listened to a romance/romcom as an audiobook before. I honestly don’t know how I feel about listening to the sexy/steamy scenes being read to me… Haha I might give it a try since I do have quite a few audible credits to use 🤣 Did you read it with the audiobook?

Thank you so much for participating, Dini!! I hope you’re having fun!! 😀
Romcoms are such mood-lifters, right?? I do not pick them up often but with everything going on I just finished my second one in the row lol. I saw some of your choices around — haven’t read any of them but I hope they turn out great for you!!
Amazing post, as always!! ❤

I am having fun, E! As I said on Twitter, I love a good weekly meme and I’m expecting to do this one for as long as it’s around 😀
Romcoms are literally the best. I think I only realised the other day just how much I read romance/romcom! Haha I thought it was my second most read genre after YA SFF but yeah, I don’t think so 🤣

Oh I do not like McFarlane’s writing at all. Gosh what was the book I tried to read by her…. I went off on a terrible DNF rant about it some years ago. Lol have forgotten the book name but the bitterness remains 🙈😂🙈😂 what am I like Dini? And re Chloe Brown. The illness rep is on point for sure.

Hahaha I am not surprised! I’m really curious to know which book of hers you read! What was it about her writing that you didn’t like? (If you remember lol) I’ve heard the illness rep in Chloe is great! Looking forward to it 🙂

Who’s that girl. I looked it up especially for you 😂😂 I wrote a rant on gr about how painfully unoriginal it was which I know, a lot of that sort of books are… but there was a dryness to the writing and I thought it completely lacked humour. Uhhh awful book! 🙈😂

Lmao I haven’t even heard of it but I’ll check out your rant on GR 😂 Hahaha I will stay away from this book! Hoping the one I’ve picked up is not going to be like this 😝
