It’s the first Goodreads Monday of 2020, friends! This weekly meme was started by @Lauren’s Page Turners and it invites you to pick a book from your TBR and explain why you want to read it. Easy enough, right? Feel free to join in if you want to! I’ll be using a random number generator to pick my books from my insanely long GR Want-to-read list.
This week’s book is Tweet Cute by Emma Lord. The hype is super real for this book! I think I’ve already mentioned this book a few times in several posts so y’all know how excited I am to read this contemporary YA romance. It has a 4.12 star average with 3.4k+ ratings and 1.4k+ reviews.

Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming ― mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.
Enter Jack, class clown and constant thorn in Pepper’s side. When he isn’t trying to duck out of his obscenely popular twin’s shadow, he’s busy working in his family’s deli. His relationship with the business that holds his future might be love/hate, but when Big League Burger steals his grandma’s iconic grilled cheese recipe, he’ll do whatever it takes to take them down, one tweet at a time.
All’s fair in love and cheese ― that is, until Pepper and Jack’s spat turns into a viral Twitter war. Little do they know, while they’re publicly duking it out with snarky memes and retweet battles, they’re also falling for each other in real life ― on an anonymous chat app Jack built.
As their relationship deepens and their online shenanigans escalate ― people on the internet are shipping them?? ― their battle gets more and more personal, until even these two rivals can’t ignore they were destined for the most unexpected, awkward, all-the-feels romance that neither of them expected.
Why do I want to read it?
There has been a lot of hype around this book and I’ve fallen straight into the hype trap. But this book just sounds so… cute and like it’ll give me all the ‘aww’ giggly romance feels and I can’t help it if I’m a sucker for what sounds like a good romcom! I have seen a few mixed reviews for it, some saying they were really disappointed and some saying it was just “okay”, while others said it was super fun and just what they’re looking for in a YA romcom. So I’m definitely curious to see where I’ll fall on that spectrum–knowing me and my love for an easy to digest romance, I think I’ll probably end up loving it! I’m still waiting for my copy to arrive (because it takes freaking FOREVER to ship to an island in the middle of nowhere) but rest assured I will be reading it as soon as I can!
Have you read Tweet Cute or is it on your TBR too?

We all know how I felt about this one, haha. I hope you enjoy it, Dini! 😁

I’ve seen a few mixed reviews but definitely a lot more positive ones than mediocre/negative. I hope we both enjoy it 😀

How can I resist a book that uses the word shenanigans is the summary? Actually I have been seeing lots of good things about this book, so it is on my TBR. Not sure when I will get to it though…
