#TopTenTuesday: Five-Star Predictions on my TBR!

It’s that time of the week again, friends! We’re back with another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s prompt is: books on my TBR I predict will be five star reads!

I’ve just been thinking about the books I’ve been reading lately and… I’m kind of shook to realise that I haven’t really been giving out a whole lot of 5★ ratings to my reads lately. It’s funny because prior to joining the book community I’m pretty sure that the majority of my ratings were 4★s or 5★s… It makes me wonder whether I’ve not become more critical of the books I read or am I just not as easy to please as I was before? These thoughts actually made me realise how difficult this week’s TTT prompt is for me. It took some stewing over my want-to-read list but I think I’m happy with these predictions…

Aurora Burning – I adore this duo and so maybe it’s no surprise that they’re on this list. I loved Aurora Rising more than I thought I would so I’m really excited for more of this sexy space elf on the cover!

Not Even Bones – I’m kinda cheating a little because I’m reading the Webtoon for Not Even Bones right now and it’s amazing? I’m gutted this isn’t available on Kindle UK and though the physical copy was a bit pricey, I have a feeling it’ll be so worth it!

The Library of the Unwritten – I love books about books and this has such an interesting premise that I think it just might be 5★ potential!

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird – I loved One Day in December and honestly just looking at this cover gives me all the feel good vibes I could ever want from a contemporary romance!

My Dark Vanessa – I’ve heard a lot about this book already and all reviews point to this book being a solid 5★s. I think intense might be an understatement considering what the book is about but I’m looking forward to it!

A People’s History of Heaven – This book is set in Heaven, an old slum in India and follows the story of its inhabitants. There’s something about the blurb that makes me think that not only will this absolutely wreck my feels but it’ll be a solid 5★s.

Permanent Record – I loved Emergency Contact more than I expected to and I have a feeling that Permanent Record will just as easily find a way to weave its words around my heart!

Words in Deep Blue – Again, I’m a sucker for books about books and when you throw in a love story with those books? Well, I’ve got a good feeling about it.

The Ten Thousand Doors of January – I’ve heard so many amazing reviews about this book and I have a feeling that it’ll sweep me off my feet with all the adventure and magic!

We Are Not Free – This won’t be released until June 2020, but I love historical fiction and WWII is my favourite period to read about. I love learning about different experiences and perspectives and this is one I haven’t read of yet. I’m really looking forward to this one!

What do you think of my five-star predictions? Have you read any of these titles and did they end up being five-stars for you?

    • I’m so excited to read it, I honestly don’t know why I haven’t done so yet! I love Kristoff and Kaufman so I’m biased when I say that you should definitely read the Aurora Cycle! Lol happy reading to you too 🙂

    • I’m so excited for Aurora Burning! I really hope that the sequel lives up to the awesomeness of Rising (but I don’t doubt it with these two authors)! I hope you enjoy it too and happy reading to you as well 😊

    • Yeah, there’s definitely a lot of hype behind that book already and I’m really looking forward to it but at the same time it’s quite intimidating! Lol I hope they all live up to the hype as well 🙂

    • I think I’ve definitely become more picky about what I read. I also know that I’m not mindlessly consuming books as I used to do before (which made it really easy to constantly give out five stars LOL)! 😂 I hope you enjoy Words in Deep Blue! I’m very excited for that book. Might even read it this week 😀

  2. I hope all of these will be 5-star reads! 🙂
I still need to read Aurora Rising, I really loved their Illuminae trilogy collaboration, so I assume I’ll love Aurora Rising as well?? lol
Words in Deep Blue was a very good book, I enjoyed it a lot. Now… The Ten Thousand Doors of January was a huge miss, and I ended up skimming through the 2nd half of it, but I know a lot of people really loved it, so I hope that you’ll like it more than I did 😀

  3. Not Even Bones–that’s also on my TBR! Yesss, fingers crossed it’s a 5-star read! Lol Webtoons! ❤ I haven't started reading the webcomic yet in hopes I'll read the book first but I'm not sure how soon that'll happen–glad to hear that the webcomic is good! I think it's so interesting how YA books are starting to have webcomic adaptations. I'm subscribed to The Wrath & the Dawn and it's a lot better than I thought it would be! 🙂
Hope you love all of these books– happy reading!
