January Monthly Wrap Up!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done a monthly wrap up (I didn’t do one for December) but here we are once again! The first month of a new year has come and gone already. If you’ve been following my blog (or Twitter!) this month you’ll know that my year hasn’t started off on a very high note. I’ve been facing a lot of health issues and it has impacted not only my work life but my every day activities such as reading/blogging. I didn’t think I was going to read more than 10 books this month but I finished off on an even 12 books and I’m quite happy with that progress ๐Ÿ™‚

โ Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars #1) — read my review!
โ Let’s Get Textual (Texting #1) — RTC

โ Scythe (Arc of a Scythe) — read my review!
โ (eARC) Manga Classics Count of Monte Cristo — read my review!

โ (eARC) Doctor Mirage (2019) — read my review!
โ Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe #2) — read my review!
โ The Toll (Arc of a Scythe #3) — read my review!
โ (eARC) How to Build A Heart — read my review!

โ Ink and Bone (The Great Library #1) — read my review!
โ Paper and Fire (The Great Library #2) — RTC
โ (eARC) Bitter Falls (Stillhouse Lake Series #4) — read my review!

โ Ash and Quill (The Great Library #3) — RTC

My favourite book this month is a tie between Spin the Dawn and Let’s Get Textual (yes, I know how cheesy that title is but it’s punny)! ๐Ÿ™ƒ They’re obviously from very different genres but they were both delightful reads that gave me joy and I would recommend them!

Several posts ago I mentioned that I was participating in a ton of challenges this year and I’m happy to say that I’ve made progress in all of them–even if it’s only by one book! I’ll be sharing a monthly challenge update soon and hopefully I’ll continue to do that every month. When I think about it, it does seem like a lot of pressure to keep up with but I also know that if I don’t do it I’ll just let the challenges slip to the side (like last year) ๐Ÿ˜‚ It’s not overwhelming pressure though but if it ever does get to that point I’ll obviously stop because what’s the fun in that, right?!

Towards the end of January I did slack off a bit with blog hopping and responding to comments because of my illness and I noticed a really big drop in my stats. I know I shouldn’t pay too much mind to these numbers because it’s certainly not the main reason why I keep blogging (although I won’t lie and say it’s not motivating!), but it’s also always the first thing I see so I can’t help it? I hope to get back to blog hopping and engaging with all of you again very soon!

I hope everyone had a good January and that you read all that you wanted to! But don’t get discouraged if you didn’t because the year is young and there’s plenty of time to build progress! Happy reading ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Let’s Get Textual was SO much fun, Jen! I’d defo recommend giving it a try ๐Ÿ™‚ And yes! I think Caine wrote The Great Library series before she wrote her thriller Stillhouse Lake series. She’s so talented ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I’m really intrigued by the Ink and Bone series. I love those covers and it seems that they are everywhere right now. Great reading month!
