Down the TBR Hole – 10

I’m back again with another Down the TBR Hole and I have a good feeling about this week. I think I’ll get rid of at least 2 or 3 books but I’m hoping to get rid of half my picks below! I’m now starting with a whopping 1,048 books on my Goodreads TBR! Yes, it has definitely increased since the last time I did this post and that’s because I’ve been busily adding 2020 books to my TBR. When people talk about never ending lists, it really is that, isn’t it?! But without further ado, let’s dive into it…

Down the TBR Hole is a weekly book meme created by the wonderful Lia @ Lost in a Story that attempts to organize our ridiculously long Goodreads TBR list by choosing either to keep or eliminate the books we’ve saved on there. Here’s how it works:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go

Verdict: Keep

The Life We Bury
This one sounds like an intriguing thriller/mystery and I’ve actually had my eye on it for a while!

The Lies of Locke Lamora
Definitely a keeper. I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while now!

The Zombie Room
This sounds hella messed up but… I’m so intrigued?

Verdict: BYE-BYE-BYE!

Unaccustomed Earth
I’m not huge on short stories but I also want to try The Lowland first before adding more of her stuff to my TBR!

Small is Beautiful: Economics as if People Mattered
I’m gonna be real here: while this sounds incredibly interesting… I don’t think I’ll be reading it anytime soon!

Molokai
Same goes for this one… Don’t know if/when I’ll ever read it despite it sounding really interesting!

House of Many Gods
I think the premise sounds fascinating (Hawaii and Russia?!) but I just don’t know if or when I will ever get around to read this, so I’ma have to say bye (for now)…

No One Knows
I reread the synopsis just now and I’m not even really pulled in. It sounds like another typical thriller a la Gillian Flynn or Paula Hawkins and I have a weird relationship with those authors, so… I’m giving this the boot!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Parts One and Two
Yeah, you know, I’m just really not that keen on this. I’ve a feeling I added it on coz of the hype! Lol

Bright Lights, Big City
After re-reading the synopsis, I just don’t know if I’m interested in it anymore?

bluepanda

Holy wow, I had a feeling this would be a good culling week but I didn’t think it’d be that good! The final tally shows that I removed 7/10 books! Why does this seemingly minor accomplishment feel so damn good?! 😂
