Top 5 Saturday: ARR, Pirate Books, Matey!

It’s time for another Top 5 Saturday, a weekly meme created by Mandy @ Devouring Books and this week’s topic is: books about pirates! And so I obviously had to make this lame post title but I’m sorry I’m not sorry πŸ˜‚ I don’t read books with pirates very often and I don’t tend to seek them out either? Nothing against pirates, they’re cool and everything but πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I could only identify one book off the top of my head that had pirates in it, so off I went to the great land of Goodreads Lists and found some more pirate books that sound interesting…

Daughter of the Pirate King
I’ve heard lots of positive things about this book and it’s always the first one I remember when I think

The Starless Sea
Of course I’d heard of this book but until now I actually had no idea what it was about, so pirates were a surprise to me (although considering the title I probably shouldn’t have been?)! This is so hyped but I wasn’t the biggest fan of Morgenstern’s debut so it hasn’t been top priority for me. That said, it does sound really interesting!

Lost Boy
I’ve been eyeing this Christina Henry book for a very long time but I never saw it in bookstores here and I guess I didn’t want to read it on my Kindle because I never ended up buying it. This is the story of Peter Pan and the infamous Captain Hook told from Hook’s perspective and that alone has me really wanting to read it!

The Bone Ships
I’d seen this one mentioned a few times earlier this year but it wasn’t very hyped. The synopsis sounds really interesting though and the reviews that I’ve read for it have all been pretty positive! I mean, not only are there pirates but there are also DRAGONS! What a combo 😍

Pirate Latitudes
I forgot that I have this book. I went through a huge Michael Crichton phase several years ago and couldn’t stop reading his books — which I absolutely loved and convinced me sci-fi was actually pretty great. I don’t know why I never read it in the end lol

Do you like reading about pirates? Have any pirate-y recommendations?!

    1. Haha I don’t think I’ve even read romances with pirates although I’ve seen quite a few floating out there and seen some hilarious reviews for some of them πŸ˜‚ If there are pirates in them then they defo count! πŸ˜‰ Haha
