Friday Favorites: Books That Define You

Hi friends! It’s time for another Friday Favorites hosted by Kibby @ Something of the Book! This weekly meme is where you get to share a list of all your favorites based on the list of prompts on Kibby’s page. Sounds fun, right? This week’s prompt is: favorite books that define you. Since this week has been so super busy with family time after office hours I’m going to keep this one really short. Here are the books that come to mind when I think of reads that have impacted my life in some way. Some have made appreciate the privileged life I lead more. Some have made me consider how I see the world and what role I can play in making it ‘better’ place to live. Some have made me question my own thoughts and opinions. Some have got me through some really hard times. Some have fuelled my love for books and magic. All I have learned so much from in one way or another.

What are some of your favorite books that define you? Would any of these make your list? Leave me a comment below and let’s chat!

    1. Thanks Amanda! I admittedly always get a little nervous when I get this question (about books shaping/defining you) haha for a long time I think I just consumed books to escape without really thinking about what the message was and that’s a little embarrassing to admit ๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. Haha they are a lot of books! I always get nervvy about answering prompts in this vein because I never know what to say or choose so instead I choose everything (I can think of at the time) ๐Ÿ˜‚ House on Mango Street was one of the first books that made me want to start writing! LOL I loved it!

      1. Mixed surprise…you picked one of the picoult books I don’t like (sorry๐Ÿ™ˆ) and the Handmaid’s tale…. Atwood and I don’t get on lol ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ But then you have P&P and Chemistry… I just love how we can love so many of the same books and then feel so differently about others. I think that’s why I find it truly fascinating reading other people’s reviews. I just love the variety of opinion :)))

      2. Hahaha uh oh! I totally agree with you though. I find it really fascinating that we love so many of the same books but also disagree on many others ๐Ÿ˜‚I think it’s one of the things that I love so much about books, that it can elicit such different thoughts and feelings from so many people. It’s great!
